Compilation, Integration, Archiving, and Detailed Expert Analysis of Climatic, Meteorological, Hydrologic, Seismic, Coastal, and Ocean Data |

Charles B. Pyke, Ph.D., President, CEO, and Principal Scientist of Environmental Science & Energy, Inc., offers climatic, meteorological, hydrologic, seismic, coastal, ocean, environmental, and other scientific data of all types, plus accurate, high-tech scientific interpolation of the data to specific locations (often where there are no actual data measurements for miles around), as well as high-resolution (0.1 kilometer) mapping of various data, plus compilation, integration, and detailed expert analysis of the data -- all at reasonable costs -- from one of the densest and most extensive data bases available. This data base archives everything from weather observations and earthquake information, to runoff information and tides, going back to 1948 and extending up to date to the present day, in either English or metric units. The data base includes the United States, Canada, and elsewhere in the world. The data and interpolation services include, but are not limited to:Types of data [go to Data page].
Compilation, integration, and detailed expert analysis of climatic, meteorological, hydrologic, and other scientific data (raw, processed, and/or interpolated). Organization and compilation of scientific data into a format useful to a human reader or a computer model. Formulation of printouts for presentations. Integration of multiple data sets into formats useful to a human reader or a computer model, such as a hydrologic model that combines rainfall, snowmelt, and streamflow data into predictions of river or reservoir heights - and thus flood depths - at specific pinpoint locations. These are tools essential to local officials who must decide just where evacuations may be needed. In a similar manner, coastal storm surge heights can be predicted, using ocean wind and wave data and tropical cyclone forecast models, as a hurricane approaches. Detailed expert analysis of all types of scientific data. Included are temperature, precipitation, streamflow, reservoir height, wind, snow depth and water equivalent, evapotranspiration, earthquake magnitude (Richter), earthquake shaking (Mercalli and g-force), storm surge, ocean wave height, ocean current, and various other coastal and oceanic data. These analyses are essential to many expert witnesses in forensic/legal court cases. Examples of such analysis include rainfall or flood frequency analysis, which calculates return periods of recorded rainfall amounts in given periods of time or flood peak flows (and thus river heights) or lake or reservoir heights. These are the analyses that calculate the 50-year flood or 100-year flood at a given location and compare a specific historical or predicted river height to the frequency analysis values (e.g., the predicted event will be a 65-year flood). Similar analyses, such as frequency analyses, can be performed on coastal storm surges from historical measurements and model calculations. The data used in such a frequency analysis (or other analysis) can be raw data or previously compiled and processed, or data precisely interpolated by Environmental Science & Energy, Inc. to a specific location [see Data Interpolation page]. The data base can include eyewitness accounts of historical water heights (river, lake, or ocean) in their homes or elsewhere on their properties.
